Rachel Lehmann and David Maupin are pleased to announce that Jessica Kreps has been named partner at Lehmann Maupin. Kreps joined the gallery in 2009 and became a director in 2014. Prior to Lehmann Maupin, Kreps was a sales director at Two Palms gallery. Born in Montreal, and raised in New York, Kreps attended Nightingale-Bamford School, and graduated with a BA in Art History (Highest Honors) from Emory University in Atlanta. In addition to her work in sales, Kreps has also served as an artist liaison at Lehmann Maupin for Kader Attia and Shirazeh Houshiary. She speaks fluent French and currently sits on the Artist’s Council of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
“I remember when Jessica first started working at the gallery. She was young and fresh, and I always saw extreme potential in her,” says founder Rachel Lehmann. “Today—eight years later—I still find the same freshness and curiosity, and I trust her with what is most dear to me, which are our artists.”
“Jessica’s curatorial insight, commitment, and her passion for and deep connection with our artists are invaluable. I am so honored to have her as part of the gallery’s leadership,” founder David Maupin added.
“I very much value my relationship with David and Rachel. They have always supported and encouraged my entrepreneurial spirit,” says Kreps. “I love working alongside such an open-minded and passionate team, and hope to reflect those principles in they way that I work and lead. It is my ambition to continue to grow the business and bring Lehmann Maupin to a higher level.”
