Tracey Emin may be the best known for her confesssional work about failed romance, but her latest pieces are improbably inspired by successful relationships. After Emin engineered a meeting with Louise Bourgeois in 2008, the two collaborated on a series of 15 gouaches, completed mere weeks before the elder artist's death in 2010. Now Emin, pictured here iwth Bourgeois (seated right), has produced a series of bronze sculptures at the same foundry Bourgeois used for much of her career. The small animal and human figures will be unveiled as part of a two-venue exhibition opening May 2 at Lehmann Maupin in New York. The animal subjects represent anouther focus of Emin's affections. "I really love animals," she says. "My cat is my little soul mate."
