Lee Bul: Untitled

Permanent Installation

Gwangju has been the center of change in the modern and contemporary Korean history. With special consideration to the characteristics of the area, its historical background, and the Asia Culture Center’s site specificity, Lee Bul has constructed an imaginary landscape. Inspired by the camera obscura as a representation of the analogue age, the work shows geometric structures with reflective materials such as mirror and glass surrounding its form.

Installed in the lobby where the ‘Theater’ and ‘Content Creation Center’ meet, the characteristics of analogue and digital technology contrast and collide simultaneously forming complicated and functioning narrative.
