Lehmann Maupin would like to announce an exhibition of new work by Teresita Fernández. This will be Fernández's second solo exhibition at Lehmann Maupin.

Evident in her multi-layered drawings, glass cube wall pieces and sculpture Teresita Fernández gives form to natural phenomena. By breaking these down to their essential elements Fernandez presents an exhibition of minimal work, which evokes smoke and fire. On exhibit will be a large "ring of fire" constructed from thousands of silk threads from Scalamandre. Produced during her residency at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, these layers of richly colored threads are held taught between two rings and suspended from the ceiling creating a unique optical illusion of transparency and dense color.
